Help Us Be There When You Need Us!
The Myrtle Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, established in 1974, is dedicated to serving the Myrtle Beach community with medical services to the public and medical coverage at local indoor and outdoor events such as Myrtle Beach High School football games, Surf and Jet Ski Competitions, Myrtle Beach Car Show, Myrtle Beach Marathon, Special Olympics, etc…. We enjoy helping the citizens in need whether it is for a stand by or just public education.
The city of Myrtle Beach has four taxed based ambulances operating in the city limits, two of the four ambulances are operated by Myrtle Beach Fire Department and Horry County Fire Rescue operates the other two. The two Horry County ambulances are not dedicated to the city alone they are moved and placed, as needed within the 1,200 square mile county pending the need for coverage or other calls ongoing within the county. If you live in the Myrtle Beach or the Horry County area we are sure you see ambulances on the road either responding to or returning from emergency calls. With an increase in visitors and the general population there is a rise in the need of Emergency Medical Services in the city and county. This is where the rescue squads come in play lending their help, medical certified personnel and Equipment to the city and county with additional ambulances and personnel.
Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad operates 2 ambulances with all volunteer members that are certified in the medical field in various certification levels including but not limited to Paramedic, EMT Intermediate, EMT Basic, First Responder, and Driver Operator. All members are CPR certified. Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad is not a 24hr service as all of our members are on a volunteer status only and most have fulltime jobs and family to tend to. But we do run every chance we get, and that is often. Our coverage area is not limited to the City of Myrtle Beach but travels as far west as Gardner Lacy Road on Hwy 501, Far north as Lake Arrowhead Road, and far south as The former Air Base. We run Advanced Life Support ambulances as well as Basic Life Support ambulances, therefore if we are running a BLS ambulance and run a call with either the city of Myrtle Beach or Horry County and there is no need for Advanced Life Support we can cancel the ALS ambulance and keep them in service for a person in need of that type of service freeing up additional resources.
There are 7 rescue squads around the Horry county area and we are one of the busiest being in the center of attraction. With bike week in the month of May and other events throughout Myrtle Beach during the year Myrtle Beach Fire Department and the medic units stay pretty busy. Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad enjoys giving back to the community in the form of medical coverage with no monetary gain. We trust and hope the community will see and believe in what we do for the citizens. This is why we ask for donations and assistance from you the citizens to help us help you. We are always searching for ways to help support the everyday cost of supplies and fuel.
We have currently moved to a leased building on Enterprise Road off of seaboard street in Myrtle Beach. We are always seeking new ways to to support what we love to do. We are asking for your support in the form of donations in order to re-locate to a permanent location and build a new facility to house our equipment. All donations are welcome and are tax deductible. On behalf of Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad, I would like to thank you for your consideration in financially helping our organization. It is our pleasure and honor to serve you.

Thank you and God Bless.
